Helen C. Buckman, 83, Green Bay, died peacefully Sunday, April 23, 2006. She was born July 15, 1922, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Earl and Helen (Meehan) Criel.
Helen is survived by her sisters Marjorie Larsen, Oconomowoc; Carol Vandersteen, Egg Harbor; Kathleen (Richard) Rose, Waukesha; one brother, Earl Criel, Boston, Mass.; four sisters-in-law, Kathleen Criel, Viola Buckman, Bernadette Buckman, Louise Lueck, all of Green Bay; her close friend Sally Cowles, Naples, Fla.; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, L. Ward Buckman; her parents; one sister, Loretta; four brothers, John, Ted, Martin and James Criel; five brothers-in-law, Charles, James and Tom Buckman, Robert Larsen, Robert Vandersteen; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Criel.
In accordance with Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends can meet in the gathering space at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Ken DeGroot, O. Praem., officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
