It is with a heavy heart that our family shares that Gregory B. Jerlinga, DDS, has taken his final journey of his "Crazy Train" life.   Six days following his 66 th birthday on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021, Greg joined his parents Benedict R. and Anna E. (Siudut) Jerlinga in heaven.  Greg was born May 25, 1955, in Green Bay.

Greg grew up on the family farm in Pulaski along with his two sisters and brother. He loved sharing stories of this time of his life, including his antics with his brother, and his beekeeping with his father.

A profession in the medical field was always one of Greg's goals.  After shadowing his family doctor, he made the decision that dentistry was his calling.  Following graduation from Pulaski High School, Class of 1973, he continued living at home while attending and graduating from UW-GB, working his summers at Fort Howard Paper and still helping out on the family farm. While attending Marquette School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Greg worked several part-time jobs in the chemical and medical field to pay for his education.

In May 1983, Greg was excited to purchase the building that would become his dental practice in his hometown of Pulaski.  During his 36-year career he was proud to serve patients throughout Northeast Wisconsin.  Greg was a member of the Brown-Door-Kewaunee Dental Society, Wisconsin Dental Society, and the American Dental Society. He worked with the dental students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and volunteered his dental services to the people of Jamaica.  Greg retired in July 2019.

Greg always looked forward to his volunteer work in the community, which included reading to young students and distributing toothbrushes in the Pulaski schools. He chaired the Ethics Committee in Hobart, and was recently selected for a board position on the Pulaski Area Historical Society.

Family was very important to Greg.  While Greg treated his patients like family, and they always came first, it was equally important for him to disconnect for vacations with his family.  They visited many national parks from one coast to the other, enjoying the tranquility of camping, backpacking, and viewing the constellations.  A favorite area was Wind River in Wyoming.  When his daughters were in school, if there was an art show, a play performance, or a band concert, Greg was always there. A school trip to New York City's Lincoln Center for a Jazz concert meant more to Greg than it did his daughter. He also helped care for both of his parents in their later years, and was able to enjoy many lunch dates and shopping trips with his mother on his days off.

In 2007, at the urging of his mother, Greg signed up for an online dating site and met his wife, Kathy.  Their first date was at a sporting clay range and they have been together ever since.  Every January, Greg's mother reminded him that he owed her a dinner to celebrate this union.  Greg and Kathy were married January 3, 2013.  They have traveled to South Africa twice, Namibia (with Brittany), Argentina, Uruguay, New Zealand, Krakow (Poland), Munich (Germany), Italy, England, as well extensively throughout the United States.  In becoming part of Kathy's family, they cherished times spent with her sister and brother, Karen and Kevin, and their families.

Greg was a reader of many topics, but especially history. He was passionate about his motorcycles and cars. He loved hunting everything from doves to big game.  Greg loved trap, sporting clays and target shooting at the gravel pit or the range.  He has been tracking his rounds fired since 1985, logging in well over 283,000 rounds. He appreciated his fountain pen collection and handwritten letters, having sent multiple pages to friends and family to express his love for them. Rarely would you find Greg outside of Wisconsin without at least one camera hanging around his neck.  His laptop is storage for over 40,000 current photos.

Greg is survived by his wife Kathryn (Skalecki) Myrick; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brittany (Adam Silver) Jerlinga and their son Samuel; Katelyn Joyce; stepchildren Amy (special friend, Andy Kornowski) Joslin, Jodi (fiancé, Jason Hocevar) Gilson, Mike (Rose) Wanner; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Alyssa Joslin, Tyler Gilson, Ryan and Alyson Wanner, and Jason's children, Arthur and Abigail Hocevar; siblings, Germaine (John) Hylok, Georgette (David) Hettiger, Benedict F. Jerlinga; and a very special son-like friend, Reda Taleb; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and very many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict R. and Anna; infant twin brothers, Robert and Lambert; father-in-law, Joseph Skalecki.

Visitation will be held at Celebration Church, 3475 Humboldt Road, Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5; followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Lewin officiating. The service will be live streamed through the church at live.celebrationchurch.tv.  Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .

Because of Greg's love of the outdoors and wildlife, in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been created to benefit the N.E.W. Zoo.

Greg will be greatly missed by all the hearts he has touched.  "Until we meet again..."
