Gladys Marie Olejnik, 50 passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 after a long and hard-fought battle with multiple myelomas for almost seven years. She was born on December 7, 1970 to Raymond and Lillian (Hudson) Olejnik.
Gladys graduated from Seymour High School Class of 1988. She then attended college at NWTC, earning her Associate's Degree in the medical field. Gladys was a very hard worker and often held multiple jobs at the same time. Some of her favorites included Olive Garden, working the vault at the casino and most currently as a phlebotomist for BioLife Plasma Services.
Gladys loved sewing and even completed three quilts and had a few more in the works. She also enjoyed attending renaissance fairs and would often sew outfits for them. The most important thing to Gladys was her family, everything she did was for their greater good. This endeared her to many people, and everyone who met her loved her. Gladys had a great sense of humor and appreciated the time spent with her friends, especially those in her "Cat Club".
Gladys was an amazing person and she will be greatly missed by all of her many friends and family.
She is survived by her children, La Tasha (Gregory Holloway) Coleman, Paris (Virginia Misco) Coleman Jr., Ja 'Coya (Alexandra Duffus) Coleman, Michael Coleman, and Myeesha Coleman; grandchildren, Amarii, Trilyeon Jordan, Xyana, and Za 'Mirah; her mother, Lillian (Joe) Hurkmans; siblings, Raymond (Tina) Olejnik, and Melissa Olejnik; her children's father and her good friend, Paris Coleman Sr.; Christoffer (Morgan) Stacey, whom she loved like a son, and Christoffer's son, Cameron; her best friends, Tracy Alberts and Melissa Brown; and many other family and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Jaxx; father, Raymond Olejnik; siblings, Raylean Olejnik and Michael Olejnik; and her good friend Julie Vines.
