Geraldine Marie (Long) Pirman died peacefully on September 26, 2024, after a brief illness. Gerrie was born on March 8, 1935, the fourth in a family of nine children. She attended St. Patrick's grade school and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1952. On September 10, 1955, Gerrie married Frank Pirman. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2014.

From 1976 to May 1997, Gerrie worked as an administrative coordinator the University of Wisconsin -Green Bay. She was a past president and board member of the YWCA of Green Bay/De Pere and was a charter member of the YWCA Women of Vision. For many years she coordinated the volunteers for the YWCA Festival of Trees. She remained active at the YWCA and attended water aerobics with her friends several times a week. Gerrie greatly enjoyed reading and was for many years a member of the "No Name Book Club." After her retirement, she and Frank attended several Elderhostels throughout the country. She especially enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe with her sisters and sisters-in-law. She was an avid gardener always looking for new flowers to plant.

Gerrie was truly the heart of her family and loved being with them at gatherings large and small. She often talked about how fortunate she was to have a close and loving family. She took great pride in her grandchildren's accomplishments and spending time with them. She enjoyed planning the annual family Christmas celebration in Door County which was attended by the whole family.

Most importantly, Gerrie found the good in everyone and every situation. She was a wise, gracious woman who provided unwavering support to those she loved and could be counted on for the best advice. She looked out for those whom others overlooked, opening her home and heart to all.
