Gerald "Jerry" "Barrel" Paul Prevost, 66, Sobieski, passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born August 14, 1959, in Green Bay to Clayton and Shirley (Parmentier) Prevost.
Jerry was born and raised in Green Bay. He graduated from Southwest High School, Class of 1977. While at Jr's Bar he met Julie Younk. They married on April 14, 1984 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Together they had three sons.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved carpentry, woodworking, and all things construction. Jerry drove truck for Eillien's Candies, Inc and worked as a homebuilder. Jerry worked as a general contractor for Howard Immel and prior to retiring in 2008 he had been part owner of United Construction. He proudly built both his home and his cabin from the ground up, along with many other large projects. With many years and projects under his belt Jerry was the go-to for any of his boys' building questions.
He was a fantastic teacher and storyteller with an astounding memory. Jerry was a jokester with a mischievous side that could sometimes be considered sassy. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh and smile too. Jerry loved his family and was proud of his boys, overjoyed to be a grandpa and very proud to have one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Nick (Sally Roehm) Prevost, Rob (Kim) Prevost, Dan (Angie) Prevost; grandchildren, Mellisa (Garrett) Woods, Harley (Megan) Prevost, Lilly Prevost, Clayton Prevost, Colton Prevost; one great-grandson, Waylon; siblings, Tom (Sharon) Prevost, Dick Prevost, Pete (Lisa) Prevost, Kris Prevost, Pat (Rachel) Prevost; mother-in-law, Jane Younk; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Shirley; siblings, Pam Prevost, Barb Prevost; niece, Trisha Krizizke; father-in-law, James Younk.
