George L. Crabb, 88, Flintville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 9th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in 1935, to the late George Sr. and Catherine Crabb, he was the oldest son of two boys. On November 14, 1959, he married Barbara Cichocki at Annunciation church and together they celebrated 50 years of married life together.

From a young age, George had a knack for gardening. He helped his parents and grandparents produce and sell beautiful produce at their stand on Velp Ave. He carried that skill with him throughout his life which was evidenced through the large gardens he cultivated at the two homes he lived in. He generously shared all that he produced with family, neighbors, and homeless shelters.

George had a very strong work ethic. After graduating from West high, he got a full-time job at Hansens Dairy where he proudly worked for 43 years bottling milk and producing delicious ice cream. As a result of his years working there, he was a connoisseur of ice cream always comparing different brands and flavors. You could always count on ice cream in the freezer whenever you visited. In addition to Hansen's Dairy, for years he also held a second job at Sure Way so he could shower his family with the very best.

For six years, George served in the Army Reserves. Even though he was never activated, he was very proud of his limited service. He loved our country but even more so, he loved the Green Bay Packers. He was an original season ticket holder, and he attended all home games until just 2 years ago. He instilled that same love of the Packers in his daughter Michelle and grandchildren.

George's love for his family was second to none. He was devoted to his children and all his grandchildren, and he was so proud of what they accomplished. He was a source of inspiration for many, living independently in his home while still caring for others. For years he delivered Meals on Wheels and he frequently volunteered at his church in various capacities. Until recently, George loved to travel, especially driving on vacations to many destinations across the US. Thanks to the help of his son Mike and friend Brad Skar, he was meticulous with his yard and home.

Throughout his life, he had a wonderful sense of humor even in the hospital, and he was never shy about his faith. He was a simple man, but he taught his family the importance of saving money, going to church, and remaining a "small but mighty" family unit. We would often tease him about just how sharp he was when it came to finding "good deals" at the local grocery stores and passing those tips on. Along with his daughter Karen, he was a great baker especially, making homemade pies.

George will be deeply missed by his loving children Michelle (John) Becker, Karen Crabb, and Michael Crabb; two grandchildren Katie (John) Rappel and Scott (Carley) Becker; three Great Grandchildren Jack and Grace Rappel, and Noll Becker. He was eager to meet Noll's sibling, a fourth great grandchild in the coming days. He is further survived by his brother Roger (Pat) Crabb, brother-in-law Darold (Pat) Cichocki, a very special aunt, Dorothy Klysen cousins Susan (Tom) Cieslewicz and Julie Hanson in addition to several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, parents, his mother and father-in-law Ted and Lucille Cichocki, brother in-laws Richard and Gary Cichocki and a nephew Raymond Cichocki.

Friends and family will gather at Ss. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd. from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16; A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, George's family would ask that you plant a garden this coming spring. While it's never enough time, our family is grateful for the 88 years George has been with us and the support we have received over the past few days especially St. Vincent's ER and ICU teams, Father Dave, Brad Skar, special friends, family, and colleagues who have walked beside us during our grief.
