Frank Docchio, 58, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Frank was born in Summit, New Jersey, was a long-time resident in the Lake Worth area of Florida, and migrated to Green Bay in 2023 to be closer to his daughter. Frank had many experiences, talents, hobbies and areas of interest, but his heart remained true to his belief that family is everything.
Frank graduated from Miramar High School in South Florida and shortly thereafter chose to serve his country. He joined the Army and became a Radar Operator, serving much of his enlistment in Germany, where he met his wife. They were married after returning to the States and later had his only child together, Michelle. Holding his daughter, time stood still for Frank, and he dedicated the rest of his life to being what she needed him to be: a truly great dad.
Frank's mom, Phyllis, taught him to bowl, and Frank took to it like a champion, gaining two achievement rings for scoring a 299 game and a perfect 300 game. But his talents didn't end there! Frank made beautiful woodworks with epoxy and resin designs for family and friends. He was well-known in South Florida for "Get Your Hippie On"- a tie-dye business where he created custom designs on a variety of items and hosted tie-dye parties.
Frank enjoyed so many things in his journey, from riding his electric bike and electric scooter, motorcycle rides, spending true quality time with his friends and family, music trivia, anything Disney, and planning trips with Michelle to sightsee and enjoy shows, building forever memories with her. Anyone who knew him will tell you, his spontaneity and enthusiasm, his generosity and genuine love for the people in his life, were trademarks of his character, and his big hugs and big smiles were the kind you remember and miss.
Frank was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Marie Houck, and Grandfather, Victor Houck.
Frank is survived by his mother, Phyllis Docchio, his sister, Christine (Ramon) Acevedo, his daughter, Michelle (Michael) Docchio-Weber, his niece, Amber Acevedo, and nephew, Shawn Acevedo, his two granddaughters who affectionately called him "Papa Frank", Samantha and Cassidy Weber, and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life honoring Frank will be announced by the family at a later date.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Unity Hospice for their understanding, compassion and excellent care during Frank's time with them.
