Eugene "Gene" John Hebel, 90, Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born February 15, 1935, in Green Bay to Eugene M. and Margaret (Day) Hebel.

Gene grew up and farmed in Isaar, WI. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1953 and then served in the U.S. Army Reserves & active duty in Korea from 1954-1958. He married Loa " Ann " Nicklas on October 4, 1958, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay. Gene had been employed by Fort Howard Paper Company for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was a self-proclaimed DIYer before YouTube using a combination of books, trial and error. Gene was a professional Junk-ologist. He loved the land and built the family cottage in the town of Stephenson. He loved boat landing #9 and all the fish he did and did not catch. Above all, Gene loved his family fiercely.

He is survived by his Sweetie of 67 years, Loa Ann; their 6 children, Debbie Black, Cindy (Mike) Desotell, Mike (Kathy) Hebel, Steve (Becky) Hebel, Sue (Ross) Welsing, and Jean (Joe) Framke; grandchildren, Blake, Dane, Jamie (Dalton), Kyle (Kaity), Justin (Sammy), Sam, Bridget, Cody (Yiwen), Katy, Eric (Kate), Matt, Laura (Justin), Shanna (Scott); great-grandchildren, Molly, Esmé, Morgan, Nolan, Ruby, Cole, Brynlee, Nevaeh, Bennett, Easton, Olivia, Luke, Mack, Alex, Carson, Aaron, Julia, Raven, Sunny, Tilly, Elodie, and a baby girl due March 2026; sisters, Marion Wautlet, Kathleen (Roger) Seifert; sisters-in-law, Linda Tocarchick, Kathy De Noble; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nickolas; parents, Margaret and Eugene Hebel; brother, John Hebel; sister, Lori Simon; Loa Ann's parents, Leola (John) De Noble, and Vincent (Ruth) Nicklas; brothers-in-law, Don Simon, Bob Moehring, Mark De Noble, Jim Wautlet, Vince (Virginia) Nicklas.
