Elsie Mae Liska, 98, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023. She was born July 12, 1924, in De Pere to John and Mary (Van Enkenvort) Whitman.
Elsie married Norbert Liska in June of 1942; he preceded her in death in September of 1991. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Jude Parish for over 35 years. Elsie had a close group of friends who she enjoyed attending morning mass with and then going to McDonalds for coffee. She worked at Green Bay Floral for many years. Elsie loved to travel and traveled throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia. Her favorite trips were to Spain and the monastery in Arizona. Elsie enjoyed knitting and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Dorothy) Liska, Sharon Thyes, Dennis (Vickie) Liska, Cindy (Chris) Hewitt, Randy (Robin Koenig) Liska; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Van Lanen; best friend, Bernice Klarner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; children, Debbie David, Kelly Maternowski; six siblings and her parents.
Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St. from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Nicolet Memorial Garden. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
