Elmer Stanley Kozelek Sr., 90, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born April 10, 1933, in the Township of Sharon, WI to Frank and Helen (Lila) Kozelek.

Elmer grew up on the family farm where he learned a strong work ethic. After graduating from Rosholt High School in 1950, Elmer went on to join the US Army. He served his country for 20 years and spent ten of those years in Germany. While in Germany, he met and married Wilma Krueck on August 9, 1954. In 1966-67, Elmer served in Vietnam, and retired as a SFC E7 from the Army in 1971. He then settled in Green Bay with his family.

Elmer worked at Peoples Marine Bank in Green Bay, where he retired in 1990. Hobbies included working as a bartender at the Brown County Arena, going up north to the cottage, fishing, listening to Polka music, hosting, cooking, and grilling for all of his family. Elmer and Wilma enjoyed traveling, including going to Florida in the winter months. Elmer also enjoyed going to church. He was a lifelong Catholic and had a very strong faith and was very happy to have received communion just days before his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; his children, Karen Lind, Fred (Rose) Kozelek, Elmer Kozelek Jr., and special friend (Stephanie Drall), Jeff (Linda) Kozelek, Nancy (Bob) Van Beek, Steve (Dani) Kozelek; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Frederick and Christina Krueck; son-in-law, Bob Lind; daughter-in-law, Jill Kozelek.

Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division Street, from 9:30 to 11:00 on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Polonia, WI.
