Ellen Spietz, 96, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born March 27, 1928 in Green Bay to Fred and Ellen Sarah (Lang) Christman.  Ellen graduated from East High School with the Class of 1946 and continued her education at Mt. Mary College.  On May 7, 1966 she married Alvin Spietz at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.  He preceded her in death on September 15, 1973.

Ellen worked in the banking industry.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Many gatherings included playing cards and board games.  Ellen enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and attending exercise classes.  She loved spoiling all of her grand-dogs whom she loved greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Helgesen; three grandchildren, Marissa (Ben), Roger, and Rowan (Sonia); sister-in-law, Shirley Villers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; an infant daughter, Julie, in 1971; infant grandson, Jacob; her parents, Fred and Ellen Christman; mother-in-law, Etta DeGrave; father-in-law, Herman Spietz; brothers and sisters, John (Jean) Christman, Fred (Dorothy) Christman, Mary (Bob) Walters, Betty (Bob) Mohr, Howie Christman, Joan (Dick) VanDeuren and Jerry Christman; brother-in-law, Harvey Villers; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Calvin) Huebcher.

Visitation will be at Nativity Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  Burial will be in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
