Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Mailhiot, 87, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was born March 4, 1938, in Roseland, IL to Harold J. and Helen K. (Novotny) Dowling.
Betty graduated from St. Willibrord High School, Class of 1956. On October 20, 1956 Betty married the love of her life, Eugene Fredrick "Gene" Mailhiot. They were married at St. Willibrord Catholic Church, in Illinois. Together they had five children. She worked in administration as a secretary of surgical services from the mid 80's to 2007. Betty was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the Altar Rosary Society. Betty loved to spend time in her garden, enjoying the many wonderful flowers she had grown. She dedicated herself to building fond memories with her beloved family. Some of their most cherished memories were of family vacations and fishing with Gene. Betty was a diehard Packer fan.
She is survived by her children, Vicki Deneys, David Mailhiot, Stephen (Shelly) Mailhiot, Diane Balli, Lisa (Jason) Keneklis; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; parents, Harold and Helen; sister, Delores "Dee" (Norbert) Froelich; in-laws, William Mailhiot and Mildred Decker; sister-in-law, Donna Bollero.
Friends and family will gather at St. Joseph Parish, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 9:30 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, August 6; Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11AM with Fr.
