Elaine A. Welter, 90, Green Bay, passed away the morning of Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born November 25, 1932, in Isaar, WI to Arthur and Catherine (Bougie) Lembcke.
Elaine grew up on a farm in Isaar, WI. She graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1950. In 1952 she moved to Green Bay to attend Vocational School. Elaine married Charles J. "Charlie" Welter on April 23, 1955, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar, WI. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2016. Elaine loved being a mother, grandmother and homemaker who was always there to listen. She enjoyed making homemade bread and pies. Elaine was very organized and worked as the secretary for her husband's business, C. Welter Remodeling. She also work at Bark River and for the Diocese of Green Bay. Elaine enjoyed puzzles, dancing, bowling, playing bridge with friends, riding her bike and tending to her flower gardens. She loved her time spent with family and for many years every weekend during the summer they would go on camping trips.
She is survived by her children, Vicki (Jim) Reed, Mark (Julie) Welter, Matt (Pam) Welter, Shirley (John) Jauquet, Carl (Nanni) Welter; son-in-law, Chris Metz; 11 grandchildren, Laura, Paul (Erin), David (Lexie), Erin (Casey), Stephanie, Rachel, Sam, Johnnie (Bri), Charlie (Katie), Naomi, Ceanu; 11 great-grandchildren, Carter, Callie, Jack, Madisyn, Grace, Wyatt, Rylee, Eve, J, Penelope, Theo; siblings, Shirley Roskom, Dolores Palmer, Joe (Theresa) Lembcke, Bill Lembcke, Mary (Fred) VanKauwenberg; sisters-in-law, Patricia Welter, Mary Welter; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Wendy Metz; parents, Arthur and Catherine; brother, Carl (Lucille) Lembcke; sisters, Lorraine (Joseph) Landwehr, Gloria (Hans) Busch; brothers-in-law, Donnie Roskom, Al Palmer; parents-in-law, George and Marcella Welter; and Charles' siblings.
Friends and family will gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Ave., (on the corner of Suburban Dr. and Lourdes Ave, West De Pere) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev.
