Elaine (Stich) Gillis, 78, Green Bay, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023. She was born February 11, 1945, to Martin and Lillian (Schulfer) Stich.

Elaine was raised in Green Bay and graduated from West High School in 1963. She married James Gillis on June 27, 1964, at St Patrick's Catholic Church. The couple became long time members of St. Jude Catholic Church. Elaine worked as a stenographer secretary for the city of Green Bay's Engineering Department from 1981 until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, Elaine and James relocated to Fern, WI. She became very active in the community, contributing to the city council, teaching religious education, and assisting with funeral lunches at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence. In 2018, the couple then moved to Sobieski.

Elaine was very active, and enjoyed many hobbies and activities, such as bowling, boating, water skiing, playing cards, and ceramics. She enjoyed gardening and feeding hummingbirds. However, her most cherished memories were the ones she was able to share with loving family and close friends. Elaine loved baking with her grandkids and making sure each Christmas was special and everyone was fed.

She will be sadly missed by her husband; children, Mike (Tracy) Gillis, Karen Gillis, Robert (Amy) Gillis, John (Rachel) Gillis, Kevin (Tera) Gillis; grandchildren, Mitchell Pieschek, Casey Pieschek, Brett Gillis, Kaylee Pieschek, Melanie (Tony) Oliver, Carly Gillis, Kacie Conrady, Calvin Gillis, Austin Gillis, Allison Gillis, Alex Gillis, Jake Conrady, Jack Gillis, Anna Gillis; great-granddaughter, Meah Oliver; sisters, Dorthy Allen, Rose VanCalster; siblings-in-law, Bernard Detaege, Verna Jakubenas, Richard "Dicky" (Lilly) Gillis, Kathy Gillis, Joan (Rick) Nader; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded by her parents; great-grandson, Jayden Oliver; sisters, Germaine (Lloyd) Lorbeck, Elizabeth (James) Ward, Ramona Detaege; siblings-in-law, Robert Allen, David VanCalster, John Gillis, Kenny (Doris) Gillis, Gerome (Joanne) Gillis, Eugene (Joanne) Gillis, Loraine (Jack) Verboomen, Carolyn (Edward) Verboomen, Eugene Jakubenas, Robert "Bobbie" Gillis, Bill Rugg.

Visitation will be at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10; followed by a Parish Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to be followed by the Mass of Christin Burial at 11 a.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
