Elaine M. Eilers, 87, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at a local nursing home. She was born November 18, 1928, to Henry and Dora VanMeerbeck. In 1950, she married Arnold "Arnie" Eilers. Together they were married for 65 years.

Elaine was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish where she was an altar server for years and baked great pies for the church BINGO. She also visited sick and terminally ill patients at St. Mary's Hospital. Elaine enjoyed dancing, fishing, traveling to see new places, but most of all being with her family.


Elaine is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Rodger Skenadore, Sandy VanPay; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Pam Eilers, William and Linda Eilers; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parent; her husband, Arnold "Arnie" Eilers; her two brothers, Hank and Arnold VanMeerbeck and a great-grandchild, Faith.


Friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple St. from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev.
