Edward L. "Ed" Krummel, 84, Green Bay, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023. The son of the late Louis and Mary (Schlies) Krummel was born on February 20, 1938, in Stangelville, WI.
Ed graduated from Kewaunee High School, Class of 1956. On April 8, 1961, he married Joyce Neerdaels at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together they were married for 55 years. Joyce preceded Ed in death on November 7, 2016. Ed worked as a Millwright at Fort Howard Paper Company for over 30 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council #617, and the Geology Club at the Neville Public Museum. Ed was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts, and he volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. Ed was known for his vast collection of rocks, which he had a true passion for finding. He appreciated the opportunity to share his rock hunting stories and his rock collection with anyone and everyone. They all walked away a little heavier afterward. Ed was also a talented woodworker. He liked making birdhouses, which are enjoyed by birds both locally and across the miles.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Karen Krummel, Steve (Kelly) Krummel, Kathy (Bernie) Jacobs; grandchildren, Nicole, Evan, Claire (Peter), Ben (Martha), Margaret, Kaitlyn (Shauna), Lauren; great-granddaughters, Lexi and Hailey; brother, Lawrence Krummel; sister, Betty Karbon; brothers-in-law, Michael Neerdaels, and Mark (Jodi) Neerdaels; sisters-in-law, Roxanne (Gerald) Felder, Renee (David) Jankowski; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce; his parents, Louis and Mary Krummel; Joyce's parents, George and Ileta Neerdaels; brothers-in-law, Donald (Dorothy) Neerdaels, Kenneth (Roberta) Neerdaels, Kenneth Karbon; sister-in-law, Emily Krummel.
Friends and family will gather at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Dihn-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
