Edward J. "Ed" Basche, 93, longtime resident of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born April 28, 1931 in Green Bay to the late John Phillip and Lucia (Adriaens) Basche.

Ed graduated from Green Bay West High School, Class of 1950. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1951 to 1954. On August 25, 1956 he married Dorothy Giarrusso at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2016. For many years Ed worked at SuperValu as a transportation manager until retiring in 1992. Ed was a member of the West Side Serra Club at St. Agnes. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and loved to tend to the gardens around his home.

Surviving Ed are his children, David (Rose), Alan (special friend, Sandy), and Linda (Bill) Quigley, all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Elizabeth (Jake), Nick (Ashlie), Kristin (Mike), Mike (Amanda), and Danny; great-grandson, William; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth; his parents as well as his brother, William (Pat) Basche; sisters, Gert (Wally) Boehnlein and Phyllis (Dewey) Decker.

Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Parish, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
