Douglas "Doug" Anthony Yakes, 72, of Stiles, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from ALS. He was born July 6, 1953, in Elkhorn, WI to Raymond and June (Delap) Yakes.

Doug married Amy Schneider in 1999. Together they traveled a lot and loved watching their family grow. Family was everything to Doug and he was always planning family get togethers, especially hunting and fishing trips. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan that enjoyed having lunch at the local diner, JoJo's. Doug enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He happily retired after 40 years of being a railroad engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Sara (Neil) Kasper, Travis (Brittney Race) Yakes, Jenny (Matt Zietlow) Yakes, Gavin (Britt) Thibadeau, Melissa (Chris) Duffy; grandchildren, Gabi, Violet, Emilia, Griffin, Levi, Bobby (Kaitlyn), Riley; great-grandchildren, Lily, Ember, Jasmine, Tyr; brother, Dick (Roxanne) Yakes; mother-in-law, Barb Schneider; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dixie Yakes, Paul ( Deidra) Schneider, Brian (Deb) Schneider, Julie (Jeff) Busch, John Schneider; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and June; son, Justin Yakes; stepson, Greg Thibadeau; brothers, Norm Yakes, Tom Yakes; father-in-law, Clarence Schneider; sisters-in-law, Kathy Zeeman, Tami Schneider; brother-in-law, Bruce Zeeman.
