Donna Margaret Ellison, 82, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was born July 27, 1942, in Green Bay to Antone and Ruth (Marquardt) Tomcheck.
Donna graduated from Green Bay East High School and worked hard to provide for and independently raise her six children. She had a strong work ethic, retiring from her job as a custodian with the Green Bay Public School District, after 22 years of dedicated service.
Donna enjoyed a humble life, preferring the simple pleasures of going up north, good company, comfort food, card games, romance novels and country music. In her later years, Donna's best friend and companion was her beloved dog, Charlie. Her loved ones have fond memories of her home cooking, especially ribs, potato pancakes and holiday feasts. She maintained a spotless house and her door was always open for visitors and friends or family who needed a soft spot to land. Donna will also be remembered for her colorful language and unfiltered humor, often with a cigarette in hand and wearing her classic red lipstick.
While Donna may not have been your conventional mom and grandma, her authenticity and tell-it-like-it-is attitude, made her one of a kind! Donna's love for her family was unwavering and she beamed with pride and joy when she spoke of her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest accomplishments. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her children, Lisa (Scott) Nemecek, Kelly Reider, Ricky Ellison, Tammy (Joe) Olujic, Debra Ellison, Brian Ellison; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley, Ronnie, Lois, Gayle, Sue; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Antone and Ruth; son-in-law, Tom; treasured first granddaughter, Nicole; great-grandson, Aiden; sister, Betty Lou; and brothers, Donald and Johnny; and beloved pet, Charlie.
Private family services will be held. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the nursing staff who took special care of Donna, as well as Unity Hospice.
