Donald Saunders, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1957 to John and Shirley (Swanson) Saunders.

Following graduation from Duluth East High School, he attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth in the education program. Don went on to become a paraprofessional in the Duluth School District, making a difference in the lives of countless children. Don's calm and patient demeanor facilitated him leading summer camps in the Boundary Waters for many years. He continued his career at Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and the Green Bay school system, retiring from McArthur Elementary School.

Don loved testing his trivia knowledge, playing and winning trivia all over town. Don was a lifelong learner, always gathering information and reading. He also enjoyed fishing with his friends, thrifting and finding treasures.

He is survived by his loving partner, Lynn Wilford; brothers, Mark (Deb) Saunders, Richard (Yanji) Saunders; sister, Anne Saunders; nieces and nephews, John (Leigh) Saunders, Laramie (Chris) Otto, Mike (Alexa) Saunders, Ben (Redlyn Asaira) Rapp; Lynn's daughter, Andrea (Terry) Mitchell; grandchildren, Carter and Hayden.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley; sister, Joan Summers; niece, Amelia Saunders.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2025; A Sharing of Memories will begin at 5:30 pm. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
