Dennis Scott Thome, 72, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was born December 29, 1953, in Green Bay WI to Vernon and Eulalia Goggins Thome.

He was primarily known as Chip. A graduate of Abbott Pennings High School and he attended St. Norbert's College. At a very young age he had a strong faith value, whether selling newspapers in front of St. Matthew's Church, stopping by the McCormick home to visit with the elderly residents, or being an usher for Mass. There always was a rosary hanging from his computer screen.

Having been raised in an automobile family, he continued by partnering and then owning successful automotive businesses in the surrounding community. He built businesses literally from the ground up, also including his home. Chip had a mechanical aptitude. He was an expert at assessing a vehicle of any type. His skills included mechanical repair, body work, and successful buying at auto auctions ranging from used cars to super Classic vehicles.

Chip was recruited for an early startup business, iMotors, which required regional travel from one auction to the next as well as personal evaluation of vehicles for online buyers. He relished it. In a diversion of his career path he became an analyst for hospital supply costs which he did very well.

Above all, what he loved most were his girls and granddaughter.

He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Thome and Talara Thome; his granddaughter, Danae Nelson; brother, Greg Thome (Nancy); his sister, Michelle Kaufman as well as nieces and nephews. Jessica Brooks (James), Alex Thome (Gabi), Elyssa Thome, Amelia Thome (Joe), Michelle Thome-Kaufman (Cody), and Amber Myszka (Kyle).

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Kathleen Dombrowski; brother-in-law, William Dombrowski and brother-in-law, Mike Kaufman.

Friends and family will gather at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 St Matthews St., from 9am to 11am on Wednesday, February 25; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
