Dennis A. Pionek, 86, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born March 10, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI to Bernard and Alice (Olzewski) Pionek.

Dennis graduated from Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, Class of 1957. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and later married Maryann Krueger on January 13, 1962 at St. Adalbert Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1996. Dennis loved his wife's homemade lemon meringue pie. It was his favorite pie.

Dennis was a member of St. Agnes Parish in Green Bay. He served his country and was honorably discharged after serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dennis was employed by Allis-Chalmers in West Allis. For 29 years he worked in their purchasing department. He went on to retire in March of 1995 from the purchasing department of Fort James after 12 years of service.

Prior to his retirement he was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman; his greatest joy was going to his cottage. He spent endless hours, countless weekends, and a large amount of retirement hunting and fishing at his cottage. Dennis truly was a man of all seasons. In his early years he enjoyed golf, bowling, dart ball, playing poker and coaching youth basketball. Dennis was an avid Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Bucks fan. He attended the Ice Bowl and the 1997 Super Bowl. As a proud shareholder of the team, he helped cheer the Packers on to victory. Dennis was also cheering for the Wisconsin badgers during their 2000 rose bowl victory. While living in Milwaukee he was a member of the boy scouts of America Milwaukee American Legion post 529, various Allis-Chalmers company sport teams. He also enjoyed times walking in the mall and making great friends along the way.

He is survived by his children, Kevin, Kelly, Kim; grandchildren, Matt (Katie), Marc (Sara), Steven, Chloe, great-grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Dylan, Emma, Abby, Anna, Luke; sister, Pamela; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, colleagues, and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann; parents, Bernard and Alice; son-in-law, Brian Novitzke; grandson, Kurt Pionek; brother, William; in-laws, Henry and Regina; brother-in-law, James Dziadoz; sister-in-law, Sue Felkner.
