Dennis J. Lawyer, 85, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born on December 1, 1936, in Saginaw, MI to Maurice and Rose (King) Lawyer.
Dennis graduated from Green Bay West High School with the Class of 1955 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1955 to 1962. On July 1, 1977, he married Rosalie Beth.
Dennis retired from Leicht Transfer and Storage in 1996 after over 40 years of service and later worked as a custodian for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
Dennis began bowling as a youth in the Junior Bowling Program started by his parents, and remained an active bowler as an adult. The highlight of his bowling career being his participation in two major tournaments, one at the Bay Bowl and the other at the Keglers Klub. He was a 3 rd Degree Knight of Columbus and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and watching Packers games.
Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Larry (Sue) Lawyer, Lori (Tim) Grove, Dan (Vivian) Lawyer, Dean Lawyer, Penny (Kelly) Phillips, Peggy (Dan) Sopata, Karen Lawyer, two stepchildren: Leroy Phillips, Cindy Schaaf; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Lawyer, Dale (Sharon) Lawyer; brother-in-law, Ronald (Peggy) Beth; sister-in-law, Darlene Whitmire; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie; daughter, Barbara Lawyer; and his parents.
Visitation will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 9: 30 to 11 a.m. Thursday; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Military Honors will conclude the Mass. A memorial fund will be established in Dennis' name to benefit the American Life League.
