David "Dave" Frederick Elbe, 80, Green Bay, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday, October 27, 2025. Dave was born on December 7, 1944, to Louis Frederick and Hazel Jane (Schoch) Elbe.

A devoted husband and family man, Dave married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Lynn Eller, who he had known since 3rd grade. They started dating in high school and married on March 20, 1965. The couple soon welcomed their son, Jeff and daughter, Jill. While Sandy took care of the home, Dave worked hard to provide for them, and repaired engines and equipment in his garage in the evenings and weekends to fuel his hobbies from outside the household budget. He was the best husband and father all his life. His family is forever grateful for the love and fun he provided and couldn't possibly ask for more. Dave truly was the best.

He graduated from Preble High School and had always been interested in mechanics and tinkering with mechanical things. Dave utilized his mechanical skills working as a precision assembler for Paper Converting Machine Company for 38 years. He traveled to many places around the world to assemble and repair PCMC machines. He was well liked and respected as a co-worker and a friend. Even after retirement, he continued to do mechanical work of various sorts, both for a little extra hobby money and for the satisfaction of the work.

Dave played as hard as he worked. An enthusiastic motorcycle rider, he was part of a group of friends who founded the Sports and Competition Motorcycle Club in Denmark. They held AMA amateur motocross races in Denmark for many years, and Dave loved to race. The club members became family. More recently he was a member of New Franken Sportsman's Club and the De Pere Sportsman's Club, where he enjoyed target shooting with rifles and pistols. Additionally, he enjoyed trailer camping, especially with family and friends and was a long time member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sandy; son, Jeff (Adrianne) Elbe; daughter, Jill (Chance) Glanner; grandchildren, Andraya (Terrence) Thomas, Alex Sinclair, Evelyn Elbe, Macklin Elbe, Kali (Chase Davidson) Glanner, Vivian Elbe; sister, Nancy (John) Heugel; brother, Jim (Mary) Elbe; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Gig and Jane; in-laws, Wilbert and Jeanette Eller.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, November 1; Funeral Service to follow at 4pm. with a portion of the service dedicated to friends and family sharing memories of Dave. Burial will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
