David Paul Belleau, 87, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026. He was born on September 15, 1938, in Green Bay, WI to Paul and Dorothy (McGrath) Belleau.
David graduated from Premontre High School in Green Bay, then served in the U.S. Army following high school. He went on to receive training and multiple certifications in Criminal Justice from the Technical College. David worked for the Brown County Sheriff's Office for 25 years, where he retired as a Lieutenant in December 1993.
On February 27, 1960, Dave married Lynda Marie Hanover at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay, WI. Together the couple had six children.
David is survived by his children, Christy Belleau, Laurie Belleau, Jeff (Jeremiah) Belleau, Jason (Becky) Belleau; one granddaughter, Chloe Belleau; his sister, Jane Phillips; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lynda in July 2026; twin sons, Matthew Paul and Mark David Belleau; his parents Paul and Dorothy and sister Bonnie Young.
David was blessed to have the love and support of his Grandma Myrtle McGrath and her daughter Violet (Aunt Vi) Gregorich after the passing of his mother when he was a young boy and he was always grateful for their love and support.
He was always a hard worker, holding down several jobs at once before finally joining the Sheriff's Department. He drove bus, worked for WPS, American Standard Plumbing and Hasselblad Machine Company to name a few.
David loved to meet new people and never hesitated to strike up a conversation with folks he met on the job and off. After he retired, he loved to get in his car and take drives - nowhere in particular - just to have a look. He was also very determined during his life to not let things go until tomorrow if it could be done today. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
