Cindy Lynn McKenna

Cindy Lynn McKenna 66, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2026. She was born on August 26, 1959, in Shawano to Vernon and Lucille (Klitz) McKenna.

Cindy grew up in Shawano County and went to Shawano High School. After high school she married Fred Moenke in 1975. Together, the couple had two sons, Michael and Daniel. They separated in 1986 and Fred preceded her in death on July 2, 2006. Cindy met Steve Promis in 2000, and the two shared a loving, fun filled life together.

Cindy really enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, spending time up North, watching the Green Bay Packers and above all, being a grandma. She had a great sense of humor and shared that in her time with her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all.

She is survived by her significant other, Steve Promis; her sons, Michael (Melissa Ver Haagh) Moenke and Daniel (Katelyn Sawyer) Moenke; her grandchildren, Tyler, Kira, and Ava; her siblings, Dave (Vy) McKenna, Mary McKenna, Leroy McKenna, Henry McKenna, Jeanne McKenna, Dick McKenna; Steve's children Jacob and Katie, her walking buddy, Mishka; and her very best friend, Mary Timm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Sharon McKenna; and a much-loved kitty, Carmel.
