Christina Ann Tilque, 91, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by her children. She was born December 10, 1932, in Green Bay to Joseph and Clara (Stopka) Gaura.
Being raised on a farm in Suamico, it instilled a lifelong love of gardening. She took pride in her flowers and the vegetables she grew. Spending time maintaining her gardens and enjoying the beauty of them was a joy to her.
As her family grew, she was blessed to spend time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found joy in watching them grow into the young men and women they are today. Watching her extended family in their academic or athletic journey was a highlight of her life. "Grandma Hootch" was always there when her family needed her.
Christina graduated from Pulaski High School in 1951, she went on to study nursing at Meseridia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. She spent her career working at St. Mary's Hospital in the nursery taking care of the babies when they were born. She had the joy of seeing grandchildren born and providing them with extra loving care.
Christina was mother to David, Kathleen, Gerald, and Dawn. She raised her children with love and devotion in Howard with her husband, Richard. Richard preceded her in death in 1977.
