Charles J. Greely, 71, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023. He was born November 2, 1951, in Clintonville, WI to Sewell and Elizabeth (Smith) Greely.

Chuck grew up in Green Bay and had many memories of growing up on Bond Street.  In his childhood, he played many sports.  Chuck was a skilled catcher for youth baseball.  He was fortunate to play with his father as coach.

Chuck loved camping with his family and enjoyed fishing, swimming, and skiing with his cousins.  One of his childhood accomplishments was earning the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow in Troop 160.

Chuck was a class officer at West High School. He graduated in the class of 1970. He was an athlete and excelled at baseball and wrestling.  Chuck attended UW Stevens Point and later graduated from UW Green Bay.

In his younger years Chuck traveled  the country  during the early 70s.  He loved to tell stories of his travels. In 1974 Chuck was in a car accident when he was 22, while traveling through Canada.  He sustained a spinal cord injury which left him to live most of his adult life as a quadriplegic.  After his accident, Chuck endeavored to lead an active life.  Even though he was confined to a wheelchair he was able to finish his Bachelor of Arts degree. He also pursued coaching and was a Babe Ruth baseball coach.  Financing and investments also became a primary interest.

Chuck enjoyed Christmas shopping for his family, especially his nieces and nephews.  He loved his family and often reflected on memories of his childhood along with various family events.  Chuck enjoyed visiting with his friends, neighbors, nieces, and nephews, along with his brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sewell and Beth were committed to maintaining the highest quality of life for Chuck.  He was fortunate to have such wonderful parents who went above and beyond to help him to have the best life possible.

The family is grateful for all those who helped with Chuck's care.  This included family, friends, neighbors, nursing staff, and various other caregivers.

Chuck's brothers are eternally grateful for the loving care provided by their mother.  She continues to be Chuck's biggest advocate.  Chuck can now rest in peace with his dad who was an amazing dad.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Greely; brothers, Mike (Coralee Parmentier-Greely) Greely,  Tom (Beth) Greely, Jeff (Sharon) Greely, Matt (Michelle) Greely; and by many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by special aunts Kathleen Jacques, Rosie Popeck and June Smith; along with many cousins, beloved relatives and many friends.
