Charles L. "Charlie, Chuck, Chuckie, Carlos, Chuckles, Chickie-pork" Delany, 85, Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by many of his favorite people. He was born July 23, 1940, in Green Bay to Simon D. and Mabel C. (Lee) Delany.

His childhood years were spent in Green Bay, Mesa, AZ and Wausau. On January 15, 1966, he married Jeanette Ann Paulson at Bethel Lutheran Church. Charlie's first career was as a driver for UPS, mostly in and around Shawano. He loved his time getting to know those on his route and retired after 35 years with the company. In his retirement, he started his second career as a crossing guard at Pioneer Elementary. For the next 20 years, every morning and afternoon his joy was getting to visit with the Pioneer families while helping the kids get to and from school safely.

Charlie was a long-time member of St John Lutheran Church, Ashwaubenon where he was an active member for most of his life. He volunteered with Stocked Shelves Food Pantry, with Men on His Mission, as a Sunday School teacher and served on the council.

The day didn't begin for Charlie without a devotional reading and a sudoku puzzle. Charlie loved to soak in the sun during the summer months. He and his family would take many vacations to Florida and California to visit family. He enjoyed any time that he could share a marathon meal with those he loved and could keep anyone's attention with his many stories. Charlie was thankful for his "Tuesdays with Zoe" and spending time with each one of his grandchildren. Charlie knew how blessed he was that he got to spend 60 years with Jeanette, have his three sons and watch each of them have families of their own. He said many times the best thing he ever did was marry Jeanette and have his kids.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Steven Delany (Paul Seymour); daughter-in-law, Christy Delany; grandchildren, Mike (Alethea), McKenna, Amelia, Gabriella, Christopher; great-grandson, Rupert; sister, Marjorie (Nathan) Jones; brothers-in-law, Harold (Judy) Paulson, Ervin Paulson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law, James and Tamara Delany; son, Jon Delany; parents, Simon and Mabel; parents-in-law, Clarence and Serena Paulson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Deloris Delaruelle; sister-in-law, Barbara Paulson.
