Charles J. Collier, 93, Green Bay, died Monday, May 17, 2010. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Kenosha, to Charles and Tracy (Perrigone) Collier, Sr. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he owned and operated West Side Garage and Auto Salvage. For many years, Charles volunteered with the Salvation Army, was a member of the American Legion Post #518 of Duck Creek, and was a member of St. Jude Parish. He enjoyed fishing, going to auto races, driving cars in demolition derbies, and traveling.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, Jerry and Germaine Collier, Patrick and Lynda Collier, Diane Collier, all of Green Bay; 13 grandchildren, Gina, Gerald Jr. (Diane), Tom, Carla (Scott), Mike, Nicki, Kelly, Carrie (Tony), Kris, Kory (Gretchen), Steven (Tina), Mark (Kate), Chad (Rachel); 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; a son, James; a brother, Earl; and a stepbrother, Bob.
Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Timothy Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
The family extends their thanks to his longtime caregivers, Rose, Sr. Claudette, Jan, Dorine, Jackie; and to his grandsons, Steven and Chad.
