Charles "Randy" Chapman, 78, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.  He was born on December 31, 1943 in Bakersfield, California to Randolph and Marjorie (Iversen) Chapman.

Randy graduated from Bakersfield High School, Class of 1961.  After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan as a Seabee.  During this time, he became pen pals with Jo Ann Avila.  The two met when Randy came home, for the first time.  He then went back to Okinawa for a second time.

Upon returning home, he and Jo Ann were married in Santa Cruz, California on September 25, 1965.  Together they had four children Eric, Sean, Shana and Brent.

Randy raised his family in California, specializing as a Finish Carpenter.  His kids would say work was his life, but they never went without.  Randy was a strict dad with a strong work ethic.  He was a good grandpa, and always tried to do right by them.  He enjoyed gardening, especially tending to his rose bushes, and fishing.

Randy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann; children, Eric (Bridgette) Chapman, Sean (Natalie) Chapman, Shana (Kenneth Oldenburg) Chapman, Brent (Tracy Sabin) Chapman; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cherie.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27.  Burial will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .
