Cecelia Rose Engels

Cecelia "Ceil" Engels, 103 years and 9 months, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026. She was born December 8, 1922, in Angelica, WI to Michael and Frances (Falkowski) Niespodzany.

Ceil was born at home on the family farm. As a child she sometimes walked over three miles to the one room schoolhouse she attended each day. Ceil married Clarence on October 16, 1947. She worked for many years at St. Vincent Hospital. Ceil enjoyed baking and cooking. She happily worked in her garden and canned much of her own produce. Ceil loved to knit and she especially loved to play Bingo with her friends and the staff at McCormick Home.

She is survived by her children, Mary Kidd, Ed (Sandy) Engels; grandchildren, Joseph Kidd, Sean (Angie) Melville, Jenny Engebos, Michael (Jen) Engels; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ceil was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Patricia Melville; parents, Michael and Frances; son-in-law, Stephen Kidd; granddaughter, Jessica Kidd; siblings; Stanley (Frances) Niespodzany, Alvina (George) Rosek, Alex (Leona) Niespodzany, John (Catherine) Niespodzany, Tony (Betty) Niespodzany; brother-in-law, Donald (Lila) Engels.

Friends and family will gather at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 9:30am to 11am on Tuesday, September 15; Mass to follow at 11am. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
