Catherine ("Katy" Hurley) Kyles, 65, died Friday, September 15, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Green Bay on May 6, 1941, to Frank and Mae (Peterson) Hurley. On August 24, 1963, she married John Kyles at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Katy's life was a service to the Lord and others. She was an inspiration to all. Her family was her greatest joy. She lived for her husband and children. Her grandchildren were her delight. She was the best grandma! She loved us so much and is so greatly loved.
Always putting others above herself, giving everything, she was amazing. Everyone adored her. Her gentle spirit, strong Catholic faith, and generosity touched many lives. Throughout her illness, she was surrounded by love.
Katy loved life, and being with her family. She was proud of her Irish heritage. Her hobbies included special times with family and friends, holding her grandchildren, family meals, shopping, cruising with the "Nifty-Fifties", belonging to the Model A Club and traveling.
Survivors include her loving husband, John; four children and their spouses, Catherine and Lon Seidl, Howard; Martin and Lisa Kyles, Green Bay; Cheryl Kyles and Kathryn Nicholson, Madison; Cindy and Christopher Kyles-Werth, Neenah; her grandchildren, Lauren, Emily and Connor Seidl, Katie and Anna Kyles, William Kyles-Werth; sisters, a brother and their spouses, Edith and Frank Jonet, Green Bay; Sally and Lee Clarksen, Green Bay; Mary Becker, Livonia, MI; Dave and Rose Hurley, De Pere; Sr. Helen Hurley O.P., Sinsinawa; two sisters-in-law, Rita Hurley, Garden Grove, CA; Julie Drais, Green Bay; other relatives and many many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Eugene and Maurice Hurley; a sister, Alice Wall; and an infant sister, Theresa Hurley.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. There will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1423 Kellogg St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev.
