Catherine "Kay" I. Orde, 94, Green Bay, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. She was born June 6, 1931, in Calumet, MI to Jerome and Catherine (Krajacic) Hammes. Kay attended Sacred Heart High School in Calumet, MI. On September 30, 1961 she married David P. "Dave" Orde at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, Green Bay. She and Dave had two sons, Brian and Rich, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage before Dave's passing in 2022.

In Kay's younger years she enjoyed traveling, and especially cherished her trip to Germany for Oktoberfest, an Alaskan cruise, and many visits to the Northwoods. She was always happiest gathering together with friends and family. Kay loved being a mother and supported her son, Rich's musical career. Kay had a strong sense of community and deep friendships with her faith community and neighbors, looking out for them while they looked out for her. She was never more than a phone call away.  She was blessed with great health, proudly living independently at the age of 94. After the passing of her husband, she regularly reached out to her loved ones, as it was her way of saying "I love you" and letting them know she was OK. Kay was an avid reader and also loved playing games on her iPad. She also found enjoyment through the years playing cards with family and friends, watching nature shows, and cheering on the Packers and Brewers. She found peace in the small things, like sitting in the backyard with Dave feeding the birds and chipmunks, but not the squirrels, because Dave would not have approved.  She was a woman of deep faith, regularly attending mass at Annunciation church, singing in the choir, volunteering, participating in Bible study, and spending time with her friends she met through the church.

She is survived by her son, Rich (Brenda) Orde; granddaughter, Rachel (special friend Ross Dreier) Janssen; great-granddaughter, Mila Dreier; sister-in-law, Madeline/Ann Hammes; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Brian; parents, Jerome and Catherine; brothers, Francis Hammes, Sr., Jerome (Adeline) Hammes; sister, Geraldine (Larry) Mackey; sisters-in-law, Janice (Lloyd) Steinbrecher, Joyce (Armand "Bud") Wecker; brother-in-law, Bill (Sharon) Orde.

Friends and family will gather at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .
