Carol A. Kolf, 87, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023. She was born October 27, 1935, in Green Bay, to Louis J. Conard and Elizabeth "Elsie" J. Haszel.

Carol attended Annunciation grade school as a child, and she graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1954. She went on to attend Vocational School and worked at Wisconsin Public Service. On September 10, 1960, Carol married her first husband, Florian Pasowicz, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Green Bay. They moved to Chicago for better job opportunities for Florian and lived there for 10 years, and then moved back to Wisconsin, living in Pulaski, and together they had six children.

After Florian passed away, she reconnected with a former co-worker and friend from Wisconsin Public Service through a sympathy card sent after his wife had passed away, and this led to David Kolf and Carol falling in love and were married on May 4, 1991, and just celebrated 32 years of marriage.

Following heart bypass surgery for David, both Carol and David became involved in volunteering at Bellin Hospital cardiac surgery waiting area and eventually other areas at Bellin over the next 20 years. As part of David's cardiac rehab post-surgery, he was encouraged to join the fitness center and spouses were invited to join, which quickly became a regular part of Carol's routine where she spent many hours working out multiple times throughout the week. She was such an incredible role model to her children as they grew up in regard to living a healthy lifestyle and persevering through life's challenges, and continued to do so throughout her life, and even with the challenges of Parkinson's disease, she rarely complained.

Carol was baptized in 1994 and became a member of Highland Crest Baptist Church. She and David was very involved in the church, and Carol assisted as secretary for a period of time for committee work recording the minutes, as she was well-known for her very precise and neat penmanship. She and Dave went on a handful of mission trips through their church, which took them to Brazil, Alaska and Mexico and have many pictures and fond memories of their experiences. Being a very faithful woman, you could usually find her next to her Bible and her daily devotional readings.

She enjoyed her private spiritual time, reading, gardening , sewing (of course, mostly mending when you have 6 children), going on walks and bicycling. Carol and Dave were in a bowling league together and also have many fond memories of yearly vacations to the Wisconsin Public Service lodge in the summertime. She worked at the YWCA at the front desk for a number of years as the early person to open in the morning, which was not a highly desired shift for most people, but it was fun for her grandchildren to see her after their swim lessons and visit for a short time on a regular basis.

She is survived by her husband, David; children, Steve Pasowicz, Karen (Tim) Engels, MaryAnn (Rick) Salmon, Julie (Dan) Kielar, Stan Pasowicz; a stepson , Steve (Clara) Kolf; a stepdaughter, Karen (Dana) Miller; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother-in- law, Marvin Burkel; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Conard, Rosella Conard, Barbara Pasowicz.

Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Florian Pasowicz; her son, Florian Michael Pasowicz; her parents; her sister, Mary Burkel; and her brothers, Ronald Conard and Leland Conard.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Carol's name to benefit Samaritans Purse.

Friends and family will gather at Highland Crest Baptist Church, 1830 Military Ave., on Thursday, May 11 from 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .
