Carlos Bofill, 84, Suamico, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, following a brief illness.

After arriving in the United States from Cuba through legal immigration in search of opportunity and freedom, Carlos became a proud and devoted American. Through hard work, determination, and perseverance, he achieved remarkable success throughout his life.

Carlos earned a master's degree in electrical engineering and spent much of his professional career as an executive with Motorola, GTE, and Centennial Communications. Throughout his career, he played an important role in shaping the rapidly evolving cellular telecommunications industry.

He had a passion for life and an enduring love of travel. Carlos explored the world extensively, visiting 78 countries and embracing the people, cultures, and experiences he encountered along the way. His curiosity, adventurous spirit, and appreciation for different perspectives enriched both his life and the lives of those around him.

Carlos will be remembered for his many accomplishments, his unwavering values, his deep love for family and country, and the positive impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of perseverance, integrity, optimism, and generosity will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

He will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife of many years, Colleen Chambers; his children, Anna, Carl, Mark, and Elizabeth; grandchildren, nieces and nephews; along with extended family, friends, and colleagues whose lives were touched by his kindness and wisdom.
