Carl Edward Cleereman, 89, Green Bay, passed away on February 21, 2024. The son of the late Hubert and Nancy (Brunette) was born on August 27, 1934 in Green Bay, WI.
Carl attended Green Bay West High School. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. Following his faithful service and an honorable discharge, Carl would go on to work for several welding supply companies. His personable nature and gift of gab made him a natural. Carl was quick to share a joke and a smile.
Carl also had an entrepreneurial spirit. He combined ambition with his talent for cooking to open Chili Village in Rockford, IL. Carl was truly a jack of all trades who did things his way.
Above everything else, he was a loving father.
He is survived by his children, Joe Cleereman and Jane (Jim) Cleereman-Uhlig; grandchildren, Taylor and Harland Cleereman, Kerensa Inskip, Tania (Brian) Brugger; great grandchildren, Evan, Samantha, Skyler, Landan; sisters, Joanie Kolb (special friend Lee Krueger), Lois VanderPerren; brother, Jim (Kim) Cleereman; step-children, Carl (Mel) Kegel, Paul Kegel, Joseph Kegel, Mark (Julie) Kegel, Caroline (Joe) Egler, Margaret Kegel; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Claire; brothers, David and Jerry (Gloria) Cleereman; brothers-in-law, Terry Kolb and Bob VanderPerren.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Monday, March 4, from 9:30 – 11am. A memorial service will be held for Carl at 11am. To send online condolences, please visit www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
