It is with profound sorrow that we share that our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Cameron "Cam" Brice Sunken, 32, passed away unexpectedly on October 17th, 2026.
He was born in Green Bay on Sept. 7, 1994, to Annelise and Harold Sunken, Jr. A 2013 graduate of Preble High School, Cameron was currently working as a package handler at FedEx and was a student at UWGB studying Biology and Environmental Sciences. Cameron earned the rank of sergeant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard with the 127th Infantry Battalion as an11 Charlie Mortarman. He recently returned from deployment in the Middle East and will be remembered by his fellow soldiers for his determination to better himself, willingness to help anyone, humor, and positivity even during challenging times.
Cameron grew up with a curiosity and love of nature. From an early age he could spot a bug from yards away and he never met an insect he didn't know something about. Cam was our resident bug catcher, always releasing them safely outside. Cameron loved watching anime, bake-off shows, horror movies, and, of course, the Pack. He was always reading a book or listening to an audiobook or an eclectic mix of music. Cam enjoyed friendly competition while playing cards or board games and was known for lighthearted trash talking whether he was winning or losing. He especially loved playing Magic: The Gathering with friends or his stepbrothers. Ramen, Chinese food, sushi, brats and his stepfather's home cooking were staples in his diet. He adored walking either with our Sheltie or in nature, especially in his favorite place, the trails in Baird's Creek Parkway.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Annelise and Michael Casbourne; siblings, Kinsey Cappelle and Bryce Sunken (Paige); niece and nephews, Decklyn Cappelle, Clara and Zayden; maternal grandfather, Duane Yahn (William Mason); uncle, David Yahn (Shannon); and cousins, Makayla (Michael), Mason, Michael, and Vincent. Stepsiblings, Kaytie Myers, John, Nathan, Preston, and Ana Casbourne; and his best friend, Nick Badke. He is further survived by his niece and nephew, Lina and Arlowe; grandmother, Lori Zaskey, great grandmother, Marie Casbourne; aunt, Virginia Fulton (Glenn).
On his father's side, he is survived by his father, Harold Sunken, Jr; stepmother, Susan Burkard; aunts, Amy Burnham (Jim), Lee Ann Phillips (Dennis); cousin, Thunder Burnham.
Cameron is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Lee Sunken, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Patricia Yahn; grandfather, Gary Zaskey.
Cameron was a devoted son, protective brother, adored uncle, and generous friend who was at the heart of our most cherished memories and will be deeply missed in all the milestones to come. A celebration of Cameron's life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1st at the Triangle Sports Area Chalet in Baird's Creek Parkway, 500 Beverly Road, Green Bay. Visitation starting at 2:00pm with a memorial service at 4:00pm led by Chaplain Dan Shimon, followed by full military honors. Friends and family are invited to speak at the service if they so wish. Meal to follow. (Please text your RSVP for the meal portion with your name and # of people to (920) 371-1203. To view full obituary or send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
