Beverly Anne (LaRoche) Vanden Boom, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024.  She  was born on September 28,1937, to Mark and Verna LaRoche in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Beverly ("Bev") graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Green Bay. She married the love of her life, James Ray Vanden Boom, on December 26th, 1956. Between raising six children with her husband Jim and multiple moves across the country, Bev persistently pursued higher education. She worked toward a teaching degree at Southern Connecticut State College and boldly went back to college at age 40 to achieve her dream of becoming a registered nurse - receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 1980. Her joy in caring for people and her compassionate heart led her to a successful and fulfilling career specializing in home health and hospice nursing and management. Despite her professional achievements, Bev would always say that her biggest accomplishment, by far, was bringing up her six children and being a loving mother.

When Bev was not busy raising children or working, she passionately pursued a number of other interests. She spent many hours researching and documenting her family history and genealogy to pass on to her children. The discovery (and sharing) of a new ancestor or branch to the family tree always brought her immense joy. Bev always went out of her way to speak lovingly about her many relatives and friends. She cherished antiques and particularly enjoyed collecting Tea Leaf Ironstone china. Bev also loved cooking, family gatherings, music, reading, watching tennis on television, and playing games (especially Yahtzee) with loved ones.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Vanden Boom; her parents, Mark and Verna LaRoche; her mother-in-law, Clara (Zimonick) Vanden Boom, and her three siblings, Mark LaRoche Jr., LaVerne (James) Simonet and Joyce Langlais; as well as her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Raymond) Biebel.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark, Tom (Catherine Marie), Bob (Nora), Paul (Valerie), Mary Clare Vanden Boom and Catherine Anne (Jon) Schwoerer; thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Prior to her recent decline in health, Beverly was blessed to have lived under the loving care of her daughter Mary Clare in Green Bay during the last twelve years of her life. The family wishes to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Beverly's many caregivers over this period, including staff associated with Lakeland Care in Green Bay. In addition, our thanks go out to the numerous caregivers and health care professionals from St. Vincent Hospital (Green Bay, WI), Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Center (Stoughton, WI), and UnityPoint Health – Meriter Hospital (Madison, WI) providing for Bev's care over the past few months.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple Ave., from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 13th; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 pm. Bev will be laid to rest at Allouez Catholic Cemetery next to her husband of 31 years. To send online condolences, please visit www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com
