Betty Lou Lewis, 77, Green Bay, passed away January 21, 2025, peacefully in her home on hospice care surrounded by her family. She was born on January 22, 1947, to the late Ralph and Gertrude (Landwehr) Armstrong in the Town of Duck Creek where she spent her entire life. She graduated from Bay Port High School in 1965.
A week after graduation, on June 19, 1965, she married the love of her life, Dean Lewis, and started their life journey together raising 3 beautiful girls, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren over the course of their 51-year marriage. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.
Betty was an avid volunteer for 20+ years on the Howard/Suamico Emergency rescue and County Rescue as an EMT. Her true passion was responding to emergencies to help those in need. She also worked at the Red Cross for 25+ years processing and transporting life-saving blood supplies to hospitals. She loved playing cards, fishing, shopping, traveling, driving around in her convertibles w/ the top down with the sun shining on her face, and spending time with close friends. She particularly enjoyed time in Twin Bridge at the flowage, where she gathered family and friends to enjoy her outdoor fire cooked Booyah as well as time on the water jet skiing and water skiing. After retirement, she spent many winters together with her husband in Texas, swimming with the manatee, riding around in her golf cart, visiting friends, and going on trips to Branson, Missouri. She will be missed tremendously by many.
Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharla (Darrell) Filtz of Cedarburg, Annette Wilmet of Green Bay, Merry (Steve) Scully of Green Bay, bonus daughter Rhonda Hill, grandchildren Nicole (Matt) Hein, Amanda and Becky Nowak, Dakota Wilmet, Zachary (Samantha) Filtz, Brianna and Joshua Filtz, Meghan (Craig) Nooyan, Stephanie and Grace Scully, and great grandchildren Jordan, Tyler, Cooper and Aidan, brothers-in-law Marvin (Shirley) Lewis and Dale (Kathy) Lewis, sister-in-law Barb Lewis, several nieces and nephews, many dear friends and her beloved "side kick companion" Buddy (dog).
