Mrs. Derwood (Bernice) Pratt, age 98, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 21, 1922, in Scott City, Kansas to Fred and Jean (Derby) Robb.

Bernice met Derwood "Derby" Pratt while he was serving in the U.S. Navy in Oakland, Calif. Only two months after a tap on the wrong shoulder led to a chance encounter, Bernice and Derby were married on July 28, 1944. After his service in the Navy, they settled on a farm in Middle Inlet, Wis., where they raised their family of five children. In 1966, they moved the family to Green Bay. Bernice worked for Sears for 15 years, retiring in 1982. During retirement, Bernice and Derby enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

Bernice was a life-long member of NACCCA and UPCCCA, the National and Upper Peninsula chapters of the Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni. She was also a member of Graceway Fellowship.

Bernice took great pride in her large, close-knit family. In her final days, Bernice shared with her family that she "wouldn't trade her life for anything else." What a blessing to have lived a life full of love and without regret.

Bernice was married to the love of her life, Derby, for 69 years before he was called to his heavenly home. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jean Robb and her brother-in-law, Harold Newton.

Survivors include her five children: Donna (Marv) Baranczyk, Don (Pam Eggers) Pratt, Darlene (Dave) Wilson, Dorothy (Jim) VanPay, Dennis (Debbie) Pratt; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Lola Newton; many nieces, nephews; and other family and friends.

A private family service will be held. A video of the service may be viewed after December 30 on Bernice's obituary page on the funeral home website. Expressions of sympathy may be shared, and the complete obituary viewed at www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com , or cards may be sent to Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, WI 54303 to the attention of Bernice Pratt's family and they will be forwarded.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for their care and compassion during Bernice's brief battle with cancer.
