Bernice "Bea" Klarner, 97, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 27, 2024. The daughter of the late Russell and Cora (Wendricks) Carpenter was born on April 27, 1927.
Bea was a graduate of West High, class of '45. On May 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Merle Klarner. He preceded Bea in death on January 10, 2011.
Bea was a clerk for the United States Postal Service for many years.
Bea is survived by her daughter, Terry (Angel) Arabbo, Maple Grove, MN; daughter-in-law, Sherry Greenwood, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Matt (Abby) Klarner, Jeremy (Amanda) Klarner, Kim Klarner (Kevin DeLorenzo), Meghan (Ben) Trigg, Adam Thornton; great grandchildren, Samantha and Ben Klarner, Helen Rae Thornton, Lydia, Miles, Elliott Klarner, Forest and Farrah DeLorenzo ; sister, Theresa Piton; sister-in-law, Carol (John) Melendy; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle; son, Mark Klarner; brothers, Floyd (Martha), Harold (Margaret), Norman (Jane), Gordon (Dot), Ray, Gilbert (Joyce), Ralph (Betty) Carpenter; sisters, Dora (Norbert) Fonder, Mary Ann (Laverne) Schmidt; brother-in-law, Bill Piton.
Friends and family will gather at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St. on Tuesday, October 1 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial for Bea will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private entombment will be in Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Bea's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the caring and thoughtful staff at Grancare Gardens and Unity Hospice for their compassionate, gentle care given to Bea. Special thanks are also extended to Sr. Jan and Sr. Elena for their visits and kind words as well as her friend, Sally Clark who would graciously pick Bea up for her hair appointments and drive her back home. Thank you as well to Cathy and Larry Kabat, and Mary Kozina for their kindness, generosity, and support.
