On June 6, 2024, a beautiful soul ended his journey down a dark and painful path and found his way to a place of incredible happiness where he was welcomed by the Jesus he so loved. He was born on February 20, 1974, and since that time had lost many of the people he deeply cared for. You can bet they were all waiting to greet him in the place we know as Heaven.
As he traveled through life, often alone and lonely, the kindness of others, both friends and strangers, always brought hope and happiness to his troubled soul. For this he was deeply grateful. Over the more recent years, while many might not recognize his name, they may remember him as the gentle man who usually wore a gray stocking cap, had a rosary around his neck, and hospital identification bracelets on his arms. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, especially those who rode the bus with him.
Before he was afflicted by the terrible disease of alcoholism, Ben was a very successful graphic design specialist, photographer, and artist. He graduated from Notre Dame Academy and NWTC where he made many friends. He was a free spirit and adventurous soul with a love of the outdoors, and he could make anyone smile with his goofiness. Even in the most difficult of times, his heart and love for people knew no boundaries. Ben enjoyed spending time with his family and bringing his mother along for many outdoor adventures.
Perhaps the thing he was most proud of was his involvement in the Big Brother program which led to his selection as the state of Wisconsin Big Brother of the year.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce; father, Roberto (Linda); brothers, Robert (Allison), Geraldo "Wally" (Andrea); nephew and nieces, Patrick, Heather, Joyanna, Juliet; other relatives, and friends.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunt, and uncle.
