Barbara Irwin, 49, Green Bay, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007. She was born Feb. 10, 1958 in Appleton to Frank J. and Helen (Woods) Calmes. Barbara graduated from Appleton East High School. On Oct. 24, 1998, she was united in marriage to John C. Irwin in Appleton. She enjoyed watching "Little House on the Prairie", fishing, collecting angels and she received a yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. Barbara also enjoyed music, the Green Bay Packers and ballroom dancing.
Survivors include her husband, John; her mother, Helen (Woods) Calmes, Appleton; six brothers and sisters and their spouses, Michael (Gennie) Calmes, Patricia (Allen) Koivula, Frank (Barbara) Calmes, Kathleen (Dennis) Van Boxtel, Sharon (Stuart) Howard, Linda Calmes; a step-son, Thomas Irwin, Green Bay; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank J. Calmes; a brother, Robert; a sister, Ellen.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Kenneth DeGroot O.Praem officiating.
