Barbara Ann Carlson, aged 75 years, died peacefully at the Anna John Resident Centered Care Community in Oneida, Wisconsin on Saturday morning, June 1, 2024. She was surrounded by her family in her final moments. Barbara was a longtime resident of the Green Bay area, and was a much beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt.
Barbara Ann Carlson, née Voight, was the daughter of Robert James Taylor and Elna May Taylor, née Johnson. She was born on June 18, 1948 in Waukegan, Lake County, Illinois. Barbara was married to Robert Martin Wilcott on February 8, 1969 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They had two sons, Robert Martin Wilcott II and Joel Andrew Wilcott, both of the Green Bay area. Barbara and Robert later divorced.
Barbara graduated from Tremper High School in Kenosha and attended Carthage College for one year. She lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for several years where her husband at that time, Robert, was stationed in the Navy, and where her first son, Robert Martin Wilcott II was born. She later relocated to the Green Bay area and lived with her two sons in the village of Howard for many years.
On May 8, 1990, Barbara married the love of her life, Jeffrey Reed Carlson, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for 34 years. Jeffrey, a warmhearted and devoted spouse, stood by her side until the end.
Barb adored children and was the director of the Karn Children's Center in downtown Green Bay for 10 years. She was also a director at the Oneida Children's Center in Oneida, Wisconsin until she retired in 2008 to spend more time with her grandson, Landon.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Carlson, Green Bay; her two sons, Robert Wilcott, Green Bay and Joel Wilcott, Suamico. She is also survived by her siblings, John Voight, Round Lake Beach, Illinois; Laura Voight, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Gerri Cobbins née Taylor, Green Bay; and Janice Amenson née Taylor, Eau Claire. Also surviving are her grandson, Landon Wilcott, Green Bay; her nieces, Brittney Weiland, Alexis Amenson, and Heather Voight; her nephews, Joshua Burgess, Taylor Amenson, and Alex Weiland; two great-nephews, Hudson and Killian Weiland; and two stepsons, Jeffrey Reed Carlson II, Portland, Oregon; and Jeremy Reed Carlson, Chantilly, Virginia. She was predeceased by her mother and father, as well as her brother, Frederick Voight.
