Audrey Mary (Chilcott) Peterson, 87, Green Bay, died Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Wellow, England, to Arthur and Winifred (Sparks) Chilcott. Audrey served in the Royal Air Force during World War II where she met Ralph Peterson standing in line at a movie in London. After the war she came to the United States and married Ralph in Menominee, Mich., in 1946. Afterward they moved to Green Bay where she worked as a homemaker until Ralph's death on Jan. 26, 1968. Audrey then worked for H.C. Prange Company until her retirement. She later continued to work part-time for Communicare. Audrey loved gardening, going to rummage sales, listening to opera, and taking drives in the country.
Survivors include four children, Gerald Peterson and his wife, Carol, Barbara Peterson, Cynthia DeJardin, David Peterson; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan (Lori), Paul, Traci (Clayton), Adam (Kadi), Samantha (Nathaniel), Sara, Kelli; her great-grandchildren, Trinity, Landon, Dane, Lauren, (and another one on the way); her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in both England and the United States.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Florence Peterson; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and other relatives.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Steven Fewell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
