Arthur C. "Art" Matuszak, 96, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was born August 14, 1927, in Milwaukee to James and Frances (Heuser) Matuszak.
Arthur enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from November of 1945 to March of 1947 and was stationed in Germany. On October 21, 1950, Arthur married Marilyn Buechler at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a farmer for 12 years in the Town of Maple Grove until he began working at Georgia-Pacific East as a digester cook. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, relaxing at the family cottage and listening to country music. He would dance the polka whenever he could, usually at family gatherings. Most of all he loved to spend time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Michelle) Matuszak, Gary (Jill) Matuszak, Susan (Phil) Plamann; grandchildren, Rachel Matuszak, Lauren Matuszak (Neil Tedesco), Monica Matuszak (Jeff Yap), Carly Matuszak, Melissa (Jim) Sullivan, Matthew (Carly) Matuszak, Jordan Plamann, Alyssa Plamann; 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Isabella, Tony, Daxton, Aidyn, Sylvia, Liam, Wyatt, Noah, Leo; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marilyn; parents, James and Frances; siblings, Harold (Marie) Matuszak, Herbert (Jackie) Matuszak, Howard (Elaine) Matuszak, Edward Matuszak, Dolores Nissen.
Friends and family will gather at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (The entrance is directly across from BP gas station on Glendale Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16; Mass to follow at 11 a.m. with military honors to conclude the service. Arthur's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Copper Stone Assisted Living and Moments Hospice for their wonderful care.
A memorial fund in honor of Arthur will be established to benefit Moments Hospice.
