Artemio "Poppy" Mata Trejo, 79, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the comfort of his own home. He was born August 2, 1945, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Arcadio Mata Rangel and Francisca Trejo Montoya.

Artemio worked for and retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio. He became a permanent resident of the United States in 1982. Artemio was an altruistic individual and helping those in need or doing a small good deed brought him joy. He was patient and kind. Artemio loved his family and spending time with them. He spoke fondly of his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife, Josefina; children, Rosa Maria Mata Perez, Beatriz Mata Perez, Elizabeth Mata Perez, Patricia Mata Perez, Javier Mauricio Mata Perez, Armando Saldana, Armandina Castle, Rosa Linda Mata, Santiago Mata, Gabriel Mata; sister, Amparo Mata Trejo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Artemio was preceded in death by his parents, Arcadio and Francisca; grandchild, Isabelle Marie Katrice Mata; sister, Maria Dolores Mata Trejo; brother, Ubaldo Peralta Trejo.

Artemio "Poppy" Mata Trejo, 79 años, Green Bay, falleció el sábado 15 de febrero de 2025 en la comodidad de su hogar. Nació el 2 de agosto de 1945 en Zacatecas, México, hijo de Arcadio Mata Rangel y Francisca Trejo Montoya.

Artemio trabajó y se retiró de la Planta de Motores Ford de Lima en Lima, Ohio. Se convirtió en residente permanente de los Estados Unidos en 1982. Artemio era una persona altruista y ayudar a los necesitados o hacer una pequeña buena acción le traía alegría. Fue paciente y amable. Artemio amaba a su familia y pasaba tiempo con ellos. Habló con cariño de sus nietos, que eran su orgullo y alegría.
