Arlene Rae Nelson, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She was born November 12, 1932, in Rhinelander to Ray and Orella (O'Brien) Greisinger.

Arlene was a longtime teacher. She taught at the elementary school level and also taught CCD classes. Arlene married Clifford "Cliff" Nelson on July 2, 1955, at St. Joseph's Church in Crandon, WI. She was an active member of St. Jude Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister as well as a member of The Order of the Daughters of Isabella and St. Jude's Women's Club. Arlene enjoyed working with ceramics. She was a queen in the kitchen. Arlene was an incredible cook and baker, especially known for her chocolate chip cookies. She raised three families and always put children first.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Cliff; children, Robert (Cheryl) Nelson, David (Jo Ann) Nelson, Dennis (Jaye) Nelson; grandchildren, Nathan (Kayla) Nelson, Jon Nelson, Alisha (Daanen) Grasso, Ben Nelson, Triston (fiancée Olga) Nelson, Jim (Stefanie) Nelson, Jennifer Nelson, Stephanie (Erick) Nockerts, Brooke Roberts, Cody Roberts; great grandchildren, Serena, Jackson, Miles, Charley, Roman, Rhea, Troy, Pearl, Alyssa, Jordan, Ambrose, Neveah, Izzie, Millie, Eleanor, Lukas; sister, Marge Frase; sisters-in-law, Lynn Greisinger, Nancy Greisinger; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Beverly) Nelson, Herbert (Emma) Nelson; special friends, Gregg and Julie Marweg; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Orella; brothers, Ray "Bucky" Greisinger, Tim Greisinger.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26; Parish Wake at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, September 27 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1484 Division St. from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., with Rev.
