Arleen Y. (Nemecek) Heisel, 92, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023.  She was born January 3, 1931 in Spruce , WI to John "Alhart" and Sophie (Wacek) Nemecek.  Arleen was one of four children.  She graduated from Oconto Falls High School and spent many summers as a nanny.  Her strong work ethic brought her to Milwaukee where she took a factory job and each weekend, she drove back home to help her grandparents with their taverns.  Arleen met her husband, Leonard, at a dance at Eagles Ballroom.  They shared a life of ups and downs, but their main goal was to provide their daughter, Jennifer, with the best life possible.  Arleen was ambitious as an Avon Representative.  In fact, she took an under producing district to one of the top sales in the state and on the side she was a seamstress.  Arleen moved to the Green Bay area to be closer to her daughter.  She was never one to be idle, so she started at Encompass Day Care as a Foster Grandparent for 12 years and retired when she was 80.

In Arleen's free time, she loved keeping a vegetable and flower garden.  She loved to grow gladiolas and had a miracle thumb with African Violets.  She was also blessed in multiple crafts and made many beautiful creations for her family.  She would knit and crochet, make macramé, and sewed throughout her life.  She took up quilting to spend time with her daughter.  Arleen cherished many family get togethers and always looked forward to each gathering.

Arleen is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Heisel; grandson, Zachariah (Kendall) Buda; sister-in-law, Carol Nemecek; nieces and nephews, Kathy (Mike), Allen (Tammy), Dennis (Sandy), Calvin (Marcy), LuAnn (Chad), Dan (Andrea), Christine, Elisa, Joe (Tricia).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alhart Nemecek and Carrie; Sophie and Ransom Rasch; her infant brother, Gary; sister, Audrey (Malcolm) Bailey; brother, James Nemecek.
